Fat, it is not a word that most people are comfortable with, but not comedian Cheri Hardman.  In today’s episode she shares how she has overcome the need to accept herself as she grew up being overweight.

Cheri Hardman is the oldest new face in comedy; starting her career at 54 years old. When not performing in the Seattle area, she can be found finagling senior citizen discounts at local restaurants. Her bawdy, sassy style keeps audiences laughing with her about her experiences as a plus size, menopausal babe. She is a regular host at Tacoma Comedy Club and and performed at  the Wine Country Comedy Festival in Santa Rosa, CA in July and the  Burbank Comedy Festival in August.

Through her comedy, Cheri is determined to give women someone to look up to that may not fit the stereotypical mold. Cheri is bold with a sassy style of comedy that is not afraid to bring issues of sex, big beauty, and aging women to light.

When asked, what awkward she has owned, Cheri Hardman does not hesitate to point out that she has always had to deal with accepting herself as a big girl in a skinny world. Learning to accept this has brought happiness and success as she is now able to share with the world.

My favorite point that Cheri makes is that you have got to find your people and develop your support.  After feeling left out and on the sidelines in life, Cheri finally felt accepted when she found her people.  But don’t take my word for it, click below to hear it straight from the very funny Cheri Hardman!
